Description

A green flag, 3 foot hoist by 4 foot fly, trimmed on three sides with yellow fringe, centered thereon the Army seal below a scroll bearing the words STILL SERVING and above a scroll bearing the words UNITED STATES ARMY RETIRED.


Background

The Chief of Staff, Army Retiree Council met on 23-27 March 1992. The Council was briefed by members of the Army Staff on various matters one being the design of a flag for Army Retirees. The Institute of Heraldry was requested to provide flag designs and one of those designs was selected by the Chief of Staff, Army Retiree Council to become the official flag for U.S. Army Retirees on 16 April 1993. The flag is available from commercial sources for those retirees who wish to purchase and display it. It also may be ordered at the AAFES exchanges. It is manufactured on nylon material and is authorized in the following sizes: 3 x 4 screen printed with or without fringe; 18 x 24 screen printed with or without fringe; and 4 x 6 screen printed flag with or without fringe for desk display.
