On a white vertical shield arched at top and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) border, the head of a blue cobra viper affronté, hood up detailed red, mouth red, fangs white, between the inscription "JOHN H. SMYTHE" arcing above and "COBRAS" below in red letters.
Red and blue are the school colors. The cobra is the school's mascot. The aggressive pose of the viper suggests the cadets' willingness to defend school, community and country.
The shoulder Sleeve insignia was authorized on 19 September 1996. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-518)
