Shoulder Loop Insignia

Description

A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height and width consisting of a turquoise diamond shaped field.  On the field, a diving bald eagle, body and legs black, head; tail and talons silver; to the eagles right, the inscription PIŇON in silver letters        


Symbolism
Turquoise, silver and black are the school colors.  The bald eagle represents a sacred tradition within the Navajo nation, and reflects the cadets dedication to school, nation and country.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 14 October 1996, currently amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 19 May 2015.
