Scarlet and white are the colors used for Engineers. The white stripe simulates a landing strip and alludes to the aviation mission of the unit as an Engineer Aviation Battalion. The fleur-de-lis refers to the State of Louisiana, the unit's home area, and the crescent to New Orleans, the former location of the unit's headquarters. The motto translates to "Accomplishment."
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 225th Engineer Aviation Battalion, Louisiana National Guard on 20 April 1956. It was redesignated for the 225th Engineer Group, Louisiana Army National Guard and amended to change the symbolism on 21 June 1968. The insignia was redesignated for the 225th Engineer Brigade with the description and symbolism updated on 31 July 2007.
