Description
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall blazoned as follows:  Per chevron Argent and Gules, in chief two gunstones.  Attached below the device a Silver scroll inscribed "ENGINEERS PAR EXCELLENCE" in Black letters.

Symbolism
Scarlet and white are the colors of the Engineers.  The two gunstones refer to the unit's two battle honors, World War II.  The chevron simulates a roof and alludes to construction, the organization's present duty.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 6 February 1958.

Per chevron Argent and Gules, in chief two gunstones. That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve:  From a wreath Argent and Gules, the Lexington Minute Man Proper.  The statute of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor), stands on the common in Lexington, Massachusetts. ENGINEERS PAR EXCELLENCE.
