A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) overall consisting of a central vertical sword, point upwards, flanked on each side by a curved feather, all intertwined with two annulets. Attached at base a bipartite scroll inscribed TAKE CHARGE in black.
Green and yellow are colors traditionally associated with Military Police organizations. The sword symbolizes the U.S. Army and also is representative of the sword of justice. The two quills signify the written military law along with orders and regulations that the Military Police enforce. The annulets allude to the two theaters in which the Battalion participated, Europe and Korea.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 25 August 1966. It was amended to revise the description and symbolism on 11 May 1993.
