Description

On an orange shield edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, 3 3/4 inches (9.53 cm) in height and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width overall, the black silhouette of a cowboy on a bucking bronco beneath the inscription "OKLAHOMA" in orange letters on a black horizontal scroll, inscribed "STATE" in black letters on the orange background of the shield, all letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.


Symbolism

The school colors are orange and black. The school's nickname is "Oklahoma State Cowboys".


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 8 June 1976. It was amended to add metric measurements and subdued colors on 2 April 1993, currently amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 29 January 2016. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-106)

Description

A Gold color metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of an orange shield on which is a black silhouette of a cowboy on a bucking bronco.


Symbolism

The school colors are orange and black. The school's nickname is "Oklahoma State Cowboys".


Background

The shoulder loop insignia was originally authorized 18 May 1954. It was cancelled due to the change of the school's designation on 8 June 1976, also amended to add metric measurement and subdued colors on 2 April 1993, currently amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 29 January 2016.
