Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a shield shaped embroidered item, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border and 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 3 1/2 inches ( 8.89 cm) in width overall, consisting shield blazoned as follows: Sable, a mullet of twelve (12) points Or, Attached around the shield, three (3) scrolls configured as follows; Red at the top inscribed "ST. JOHN'S", White to the right side inscribed "ST. BENEDICT" and Blue on the left side inscribed "ST. CLOUD", all in yellow letters.


Symbolism

Black, golden yellow, red and blue are the university's colors. The design is taken from the seal of the university.


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally approved on 4 October 1976, currently amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 19 March 2015. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-241)

Description

A Gold colored metal and epoxy shield shaped device, blazoned as follows: Sable, mullet of twelve pointed Or. Around the shield a circular Red scroll ending at the base, inscribed "INDVAMVR" on the left side, "ARMA" at the top and "LVCIS" on the right side; all within a bordure Gold.


Symbolism

Black, golden yellow, red and blue are the university's colors. The design is taken from the seal of the university.


Background

The shoulder loop Insignia was originally authorized on 17 September 1968, currently amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 19 March 2016.
