Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a light blue embroidered circular item, a stylized green mountain range, snow-capped white, all within a Yellow circular designation band, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Yellow border celeste disc shaped embroidered item, a snow-capped mountain range Vert, inscribed at top "UNIVERSITAS" and below "OREGONENSIS" in green. The overall diameter is 3 inches (7.62 cm).


Symbolism

Emerald green and yellow are the university's colors. The design elements are taken from the University of Oregon seal.


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 5 March 1973, it is currently being amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 17 January 2017. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-272)

Description

A gold colored metal and epoxy shield shaped device, blazoned as follows: a shield Vert, a bezant bearing a mountain of the first Thereon its reflection Vert (Light Green), all garnished Or, attached below the shield, a Gold scroll inscribed "UNIVERSITY OF OREGON" in black letters.


Symbolism

Emerald Green and gold are the university's colors. The design elements are taken from the University's seal.


Background

The shoulder loop insignia was originally authorized 15 April 1941. It was cancelled due to a new design on 20 July 1960, it is currently being amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 17 January 2017.
