Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a blue embroidered disc edged with a  1/16 inch (.16 cm) narrow orange border displaying an orange alligator, with blue details facing right, all encircled by a blue designation band edged with a  1/8 inch (.32 cm) orange border, inscribed "UNIVERSITY OF" at top and "FLORIDA" at bottom all in orange letters.  The overall diameter is 3 inches (7.62cm).


Symbolism

Blue and orange are the university's colors. The alligator is the school's mascot.


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 17 December 1979, it is currently being amended to add the ACU color conversion and update the description and symbolism 13 March 2017. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-280)

Shoulder Loop Insignia

Description

A gold colored metal and epoxied shield shaped device, 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall blazoned as follows: Azure, an alligator torqued, Or head downwards to dexter. Attached below the shield, a blue tri parted scroll inscribed "UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA" in gold letters.


Symbolism
