Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

Centered on a yellow shield with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) purple border, the head of an English bulldog in white and purple outline and details, and above the shield a purple arc 3/4 inch (1.91 cm) in height with the words "MALE HIGH" in yellow letters.


Symbolism

Purple and gold are the school colors.  The bulldog is the school's mascot.


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized on 8 December 1961. It was amended to add metric measurements and subdued color on 8 April 1993, it is currently being amended to update the manufacturing drawings and the ACU colors on 19 May 2017. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-295)

Description

A gold color metal epoxied device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a gold shield bearing a purple capital "H" and attached below the shield a gold scroll bearing the inscription "MALE HIGH" in purple letters.

The shoulder loop Insignia was originally authorized on 13 April 1956. It was amended 23 January 1985 to update the description, it is currently being amended to update the manufacturing drawings and the ACU color versions on 19 May 2017.
