On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) light green border, blazoned as follows; Or, cougar's head affronté Vert (Emerald), fangs, eyed and ear of the first, fimbriated and detailed Sable. Attached above the shield a yellow vertical rectangular scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) light green border and inscribed "COLE" in light green letters. Attached below the shield a yellow outwardly arched scroll with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) light green border, inscribed "COUGARS" in light green letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Green and gold are the schools colors. The gold back ground represents pride in the Army and commemorates achievement. The cougars head facing forward symbolizes the cadets resolve to stand and face any challenge that is required to improve skill, competence and community.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 14 February 1969. It was amended to change to the dimensions of the insignia on 9 December 1980, it is currently being amended to update the manufacturing drawings and to add the ACU color conversions on 03 August 2017. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-277)

On a gold color metal and epoxy device 1 1/8 inched (2.86 cm) in height overall, blazon as follows: Vert (Emerald), a laurel wreath, overall a representation a clock tower issuant from base, all Or, superimposed by a sword palewise of the first, blade upwards, surmounted on the blade a mullet Argent.. Attached below the shield a bi-parted gold scroll inscribed "WE LEARN" on the left and "TO LEAD" on the right, in light green letters.

The sword with the blade up indicates leadership and a willingness to acquire academic knowledge. The white star alludes to the Lone Star state of Texas.
