Description

On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) dark blue border, blazoned as follows: Argent, a bulldog's head to sinister Argent (Silver Gray) detailed Sable, eyed and teeth of the first, collared Azure, spiked of the first. Attached above the shield, a White scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Dark Blue border inscribed "NEWBERRY" in Dark Blue. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.


Symbolism

Navy blue and white are the school colors. The bulldog is the school's mascot, which represents the ROTC battalion.

Description

On a shield shaped silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Argent, between a pall reversed Argent (Silver), in dexter a winged foot, in sinister a lyre, and in base a flame between an open book, all Azure (Dark Blue). Attached below the shield, a dark blue scroll bearing the inscription "NEWBERRY BULLDOGS" in silver. Behind the shield and on each side is a silver wreath.


Symbolism

The winged foot denotes athleticism as well as the active pursuit of academic excellence. The lyre is attributed to the arts and creativity. The open book and flame characterizes knowledge and wisdom emanating from the tome of knowledge. The wreath is emblematic of achievement and victory.
