The colors purple and gold represent royalty, alluding to the school's surname of King. The cougar portrays elegance and strength, signifying the academic and military training of the cadets.

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Argent (Silver Gray) a chief dancetty Purpure, in base a cougar's head affronty Proper. Attached below the shield, a purple scroll bearing the inscription "MLK HS COUGARS" in gold.
