Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Blue border, blazoned as follows: Per saltire Or and Azure, in chief a spade and in base a club, of the second, in dexter flank a diamond and in sinister flank a heart, of the first. Attached above the shield a Yellow scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Blue border, inscribed “ACES” in Blue letters. Overall dimensions are 3 3/4 inches (9.53 cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.


Symbolism

Blue and gold are the colors of John A. Holmes High School. Blue symbolizes loyalty; gold relates to achievement and victory. The shield is divided into four parts, symbolize the four grade levels of the high school. The deck of card symbols, spade, heart, club and diamond, allude to the “Aces” mascot of the school.
