Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a shield shaped embroidered item edged and enhanced with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border, blazoned as follows: Per fess dancette Argent and Tenné, in chief a mullet of the second and in base a horseshoe of the first detailed of the field. Attached below the item a White scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border, inscribed “WEST MESQUITE” in Black letters. Overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.87cm) in height by 3 3/4 inches (8.49 cm) in width.


Symbolism

Orange and white are the school colors. Orange symbolizes determination and aspiration which sustains the school’s sense of pride. White represents the sincerity and protection behind the school’s honor. The star points to the state flag of Texas, as well as its nickname, the Lone Star State. The horseshoe refers to the mascot, the wrangler, which demonstrates traits of hard work and self-reliance. The dancette (jagged) partitioned background alludes to the school’s initials “W” and “M”.

Blazon

On a silver metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Dancetty Argent and Tenné, overall a wrangler lassoing on a horse courant facing sinister Argent (Silver). Attached below the shield, a white scroll inscribed “LOREM FASTU HONORIS” in silver letters.


Symbolism

Orange and white are the West Mesquite High School colors. The dancetty partition alludes to the school’s initials and “W” and “M." The wrangler on horseback signifies preservation, hard work, and independence demonstrated in the cadets. The motto translates to “Home of Honor and Pride”, emphasizing the wrangler’s traits.
