Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a bluebird disc shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) maroon border a maroon Ayuyu crab, claws pointing upwards and surrounded by three white stars. Arched at top the inscription “KAGMAN HIGH SCHOOL” and arched below the crab between its back legs the inscription “AYUYU” all in maroon letters.


Symbolism

Maroon is the official color of Kagman High School and blue symbolizes the island location of the school. The school’s mascot is the Ayuyu crab, a powerful and determined creature which is celebrated by the cadets of Ayuyu Battlalion. The three white stars denote that Kagman High School is one of three high schools on the island.

Blazon

On a shield shaped silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (3.18 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Celeste, an Ayuyu crab Sanguine. Attached to the top of the shield a black scroll inscribed “AYUYU” in silver letters and flowing at the bottom of the shield a silver scroll inscribed “KAGMAN” in black letters.


Symbolism

The color blue is from the flag and seal of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and symbolizes the Pacific Ocean. The Ayuyu crab is the school’s mascot and is armed with extremely powerful claws that can slice through locally grown coconut. Black symbolizes determination and underscores the Ayuyu Battalion’s motto, “First to Fight, Last to Fall.”
