Description

On a blue vertical rectangular-shaped embroidered item arched convexly at the top and bottom and edged with a 1/8-inch white border, below three white stars chevronwise a red pentagon edged white, bearing a white silhouette of the Liberty Bell. Attached above the rectangle, a blue scroll edged with a 1/8-inch white border inscribed “U.S. ARMY” in white letters. Attached below the rectangle, a blue scroll edged with a 1/8-inch white border inscribed “RECRUITING” in white letters.The overall dimensions are 3-1/2 inches in height and 2-1/2 inches in width.


Symbolism

The three stars represent the highest rank in leadership for the Recruiting Command, while the red Pentagon refers to the organization’s higher headquarters. The five sides of the Pentagon represent the commands mission to Market, Talent Acquisition, Enlist, Commission, and conduct Initial Training. The Liberty Bell is a long-standing symbol for the Recruiting Command and highlights its role in preservation of liberty and defense of our nation.

Blazon

A silver metal and epoxy device 1-1/4 inches in width overall, consisting of a shield blazoned: Gules, two pallets Argent surmounted by a pentagon Argent (Silver) edged Sable, charged by a stylized Liberty Bell of the third, a chief Azure bearing three mullets fesswise of the third. Attached below the shield a silver scroll bearing the inscription “PROVIDE THE STRENGTH” in black.
