Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
On a blue circular embroidered item consisting of a representation of the Liberty Bell encircled by thirteen white stars edged with a 1/16-inch white border, within another edged with two 1/8-inch red borders.Attached above the disc a scroll, inscribed "RECRUITING" in white letters. Overall dimensions are 2-3/4 inches in width by 3-5/16 inches in height.
The thirteen stars, representing the original states, and the Liberty Bell indicate the U.S. Army Recruiting Division's role in preservation of liberty and defense of country.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally approved on 21 Nov 1967 for U.S. Army Recruiting Command. On 6 Dec 1972 the two-piece shoulder sleeve was cancelled, and the one-piece insignia was approved. A change to the OCP colors was authorized via exception to policy on 10 April 2020. (TIOH Dwg. No. A-1-555). The shoulder sleeve insignia was redesignated for the U.S. Army Recruiting Division on 7 August 2025.
