VENCER (To Conquer).
Scarlet and yellow are the colors used for Artillery. The three arrows from the badge of the former 158th Field Artillery Regiment denote the unit's historic association and also the European campaign honors awarded during World War II. The radiant star is taken from the Arizona State flag and represents the organization's origin in that area.
The crest is that of the Arizona Army National Guard.
The coat of arms was originally approved for the 480th Field Artillery Battalion on 2 December 1954. It was redesignated for the 180th Artillery Regiment on 7 June 1960. The insignia was redesignated for the 180th Field Artillery Regiment on 19 July 1972.
