Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height consisting of a green enamel scroll unrolled vertically, with an unrolled portion at the bottom, bearing a gold tournament helmet.

Symbolism
Green and gold are the colors used for Military Police and black is for jurisprudence. The scroll is a symbol for a legal document and the written word and refers to Military Police governing policies, administrative procedures, records and dossiers. The helmet signifies traditional honor and its bars allude to control, protection and retention.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 3 January 1967.

Description/Blazon
Vert, a bordure Or, within an orle a tournament helm of the like. From a wreath Or and Vert a Taeguk Proper, surmounted by a pair of Khukhri swords saltirewise Proper, overall a demi-Talbot rampant Argent. VIGILANT WARRIOR.

Symbolism
Green and gold are colors traditionally used by Military Police units. The tournament helm signifies traditional honor and its bars allude to control, protection and retention. The bordure and orle represent the legal process and conventions of justice, specifically Military Police governing policies, administrative procedures, records and dossiers. The Taeguk represents the unit's participation in the Korean conflict, 1951 to 1953 and the two Presidential Unit Citations. The crossed Khukhri swords refer to the unit's participation in World War II in India (Burma), when it was then activated as the 158th Military Police. The Talbot symbolizes the motto characteristic of vigilance and alludes to the sentry dogs that support the Military Police mission.
