Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a blue disc 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in diameter overall, within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border, a stylized head of a bulldog affronté yellow, detailed blue, between two arced inscriptions "DECATUR" above and "BULLDOGS" below in yellow letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia originally authorized 5 November 1980, was amended 29 March 1991, to add subdued colors and metric measurements. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-199)




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel insignia 1 3/32 inches (2.78 cm) in height overall consisting of a blue shield divided into four equal sections by a gold cross; on the first section a rifle and quill silhouetted forming a saltire, on the second section a Lamp of Knowledge enflamed, on the third section the Drama mask, and on the fourth section a lyre, all charges gold. Attached below the shield, a gold arced scroll inscribed "COURAGE EFFORT SUCCESS" in blue letters.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 8 August 1975.
