Description/Blazon

On a blue circular embroidered item a 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter overall, a ring superimposed by a phoenix rising, wings throughout the ring, in front of seven rays ending at the ring, all white, above scarlet flames, bearing the numbers "1872" in black, arched above the phoenix, the inscription "LEADERSHIP" and arched below the phoenix, the inscription "CITIZENSHIP" in white letters, all within a roped border; all edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border.


Symbolism

Blue and white are the school colors.  The phoenix is the school's mascot.  The school's motto is "leadership, citizenship".


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally approved on 19 July 2006, it is currently being amended to add the ACU color conversions and update the manufacturing drawings on 8 July 2018. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-764)

Description/Blazon

A gold color metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, blazoned as follows: Per bend Argent (Silver Gray) and Sable, a hurt bearing a phoenix rising from flames Or, wings throughout, detailed Azure, in front of nine rays of the third. Attached below the shield, a gray color scroll inscribed "RESURGENS" in gold letters. 


Symbolism

The shield is divided into the colors associated with the school.  The phoenix is symbolic of the city of Atlanta.


Background

The shoulder loop insignia was originally approved on 21 May 1992, it is currently being amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 8 July 2018.
