A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in width overall consisting of a shield shaped blazoned: Or, in dexter chief, a parchment charged with a quill in sinister a winged foot all in Brown, in sinister chief a demi-conquistadore of the first throughout all surmounting a torch of the knowledge bendwise of the last. A torch resting on a Brown bipartite scroll inscribed "DON ANTONIO" to dexter and "LUGO H.S." to sinister all in Gold letters.
Yellow and brown are the school colors. The conquistador is the school's mascot and shows historical reverence for the spirit of exploration and discovery. The torch signifies enlightenment and learning. The shield is charged with a parchment and quill above a winged foot these symbols promote and emphasize learning and fitness.
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 19 January 2010.
