Description
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Tierced in pairle Argent, Azure and Gules, in chief a torii of the last and in base a lion passant Or.  Attached below the shield a Blue scroll inscribed "AROUND THE WORLD UNSEEN" in Gold letters.

Symbolism
Blue is the primary color associated with Infantry.  The three sections of the shield symbolize the wars in which the 425th Infantry participated.  The lion refers to the unit's service in the European theaters during World War I and World War II and is a symbol of courage.  The torii recalls the service of the Regiment in the Korean War.  Red, white and blue are our national colors.

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 31 March 1995.
