Blue is the primary color associated with Infantry. The three sections of the shield symbolize the wars in which the 425th Infantry participated. The lion refers to the unit's service in the European theaters during World War I and World War II and is a symbol of courage. The torii recalls the service of the Regiment in the Korean War. Red, white and blue are our national colors.
The crest is that of the Michigan Army National Guard.
The coat of arms was approved on 31 March 1995.
