Shoulder Loop Insignia

Description
On a blue disc, a yellow and black demi-sun issuant from three black mountain peaks highlighted yellow in base within a yellow designation band inscribed "CAMERON UNIVERISTY" in black letters arcing at top and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border. The overall dimension is 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter.

Symbolism
Black and gold are the colors of the school. The mountains represent the Wichita Mountains and reflect the location of the school. The sun symbolizes achievement and reflects the cadet's leadership training.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 28 February 1978. It was cancelled to change the design and update the description and symbolism of the new design on 26 March 1993, currently amended on 5 December 2013, to include a new manufactured drawing. Description
A gold color metal and enamel shield and scroll, 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a black enamel shield on which is a gold open book in perspective pierced by a gold sword in scabbard, blade to base, the book surmounted by a black enamel representation of a fort bearing a gold projectile. Attached below the shield a gold segmented scroll inscribed "CAMERON" on the dexter segment and "UNIVERSITY" on the sinister segment in black enamel letters.

Symbolism
Old gold and black are the colors of the University. The open book is indicative of knowledge. The sword in scabbard alludes to the military and to leadership. The fort refers to Fort Sill and the projectile to Artillery. Together they represent the close cooperation between the University and the military installation.
