On a blue disc, a yellow and black demi-sun issuant from three black mountain peaks highlighted yellow in base within a yellow designation band inscribed "CAMERON UNIVERISTY" in black letters arcing at top and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border. The overall dimension is 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter.
Black and gold are the colors of the school. The mountains represent the Wichita Mountains and reflect the location of the school. The sun symbolizes achievement and reflects the cadet's leadership training.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 28 February 1978. It was cancelled to change the design and update the description and symbolism of the new design on 26 March 1993, currently amended on 5 December 2013, to include a new manufactured drawing. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-103)
