Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a blue diamond shape divided vertically into three parts separated by two silver bars. In the first section from the left a winged foot, in the second a beam balance scale above two hands conjoined; in the third a rolled scroll and mortar board all in silver.  Centered above the diamond a red disc displaying a head of a patriot's profile coup at neck in a three-quarter view position wearing a blue hat detailed silver.  Attached below the diamond, a red scroll inscribed "PAULDING COUNTY PATRIOTS" in silver letters. The scroll terminates at the top of the device.

Symbolism
Red and blue are the school colors. Red represents the valor, strength and patriotism of the cadets. Blue signifies the loyalty and devotion that the cadets show for their school and country. The school's mascot is the Patriot and is indicative of courage, zeal and liberty. The winged foot pertains to athletics and sportsmanship. The balance scale is a symbol for equality and fairness. The parchment scroll and mortar board symbolizes knowledge and wisdom. The handshake refers to sealing the deal, entering into a new relationship, or coming to agreement.

The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 2 April 2012.
