Description

On a yellow disc shape a black star throughout, surmounted by the coat of arms for the United States, bronze eagle, laurel, arrows, clouds, stars, dark blue glory, the shield Proper, edged bronze, in base the title associated with the respected offices; all within a black circular designation band, edged with a gold border with the inscription “OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF” at the top and “UNITED STATES ARMY” at the base, between two stylized triangles, all gold.


Symbolism

The design was adopted from the General Staff branch insignia. The star is symbolic of the highest level in the Army, and the Coat of Arms of the United States alludes to the mission of the General Staff which is to exercise General Staff supervision over the management of the land forces of the United States. Black and gold are the official Army colors.


Background

The DAS approved the seal on 27 November 2019.
