Shield.  On a shield shaped embroidered item measuring 3 inches (7.62cm) in height with a 1/8 inch (.32cm) black border blazoned: Per bend sinister Vert and Or, a sword palewise, point up, Proper, surmounted at center point by a Spartan’s helmet Proper.


Symbolism

Shield. Green and gold are the traditional colors of the Military Police Corps. The Military Police Regimental motto is “Protect-Assist-Defend”. The 142d Military Police Brigade shoulder sleeve insignia is representative of each of these competencies as follows: The overall shape of the patch, a shield, represents the Military Police Soldier’s willingness to “Defend” the force at all times. The diagonal 45 degree line joining the top and bottom colors represents the Military Police Corps eagerness to always “Assist” during wartime and peacetime operations. The battle helmet combined with the sword symbolizes the Military Police Corps history and tradition where we stand ready and willing to “Protect” our forces in a combined effort to preserve our land and freedom under the United States Constitution.

Blazon

Shield. A gold metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1 1/4 inch (3.18cm) in height blazoned as follows: Vert, in saltire a key with bow in dexter base and a sword with hilt in dexter base Or, fretting a balance Sable fimbriated Or. Attached to sides of the shield, a gold scroll inscribed “BEATI PACIFICI” in Black.


Symbolism

Shield. Green and gold are the traditional colors of the Military Police Corps. The key signifies security and the sword represents the military. The balance is symbolic of equal justice under law and interlocks with the other symbols to indicate the united mission of the 142d Military Police Brigade. The motto “BEATI PACIFICI” translates to “Blessed are the Peacemakers.”
