Description

On a vertical rectangle shaped embroidered item arched convexly at top and bottom and edged with an 1/8-inch white border, blazoned as follows:  Azure, a sunburst made of seven arrows Or surmounted on the shafts by an olive branch palewise Proper, in chief a label bearing six points Argent.  Overall dimensions are 3 inches in height by 2 inches in width.


Symbolism

The colors are from the White House Communication Agency seal and symbolize the mission of providing premier communications systems and support to the President of the United States.  The columns denote the portico of the White House and the mission of being able to communicate with anyone, under any condition.  The olive branch and arrows are from the seal of the President and denote services provided by the White House Communications Agency during times of war and peace.

Description

A silver color metal and epoxy device 1-1/4 inches in height overall blazoned: Per bend sinister double indented Argent and Gules, in chief an olive branch bendwise sinister Proper and in base a bundle of five arrows bendwise sinister of the first, on a chief Azure a stylized representation of the White House Argent within a semé of thirteen mullets of the like.  Attached to the sides of the shield a blue tripartite scroll doubled silver inscribed "VOICE OF THE PRESIDENT" in silver letters.      


Symbolism

The colors of the shield make up our national colors and symbolize the mission of providing premier communications systems and support to the President of the United States.  The olive branch and bundle of arrows are from the seal of the President and denote services provided by the White House Communications Agency during times of war and peace.  The division of the shield resembles a lightning flash, signifying excellence in communications support and the agency’s establishment in 1942 as the White House Signal Detachment.  The White House surrounded by thirteen stars in chief represents the mission of the agency, to provide assured global services to the President, ensuring the White House can communicate with anyone, under any condition.
