SYMBOLISM

Weslaco High School was established in 1921. The chevron patterned background suggests the school’s JROTC mission to instill in young people the social foundation to become responsible citizens. Purple and white are the school colors, signifying beauty, honor, and excellence. The panther is the school mascot, a symbol of power and strength. This fierce beast further alludes respect and grace, which the teams of Weslaco embody as tenets of the panther.

BACKGROUND

The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized on 15 December 2023.
