On a wreath of the colors Or and Crimson, a chevron point up Vert fimbriated of the first surmounted by four bamboo stalks in cross each terminating in a cluster of five bamboo leaves of the last, extending over the top and sides of the chevron, and radiant from an annulet of bamboo of the like encircling a torteau.

Shield
The colors crimson and yellow used for Ordnance are representative of the original service of the organization. The fireballs, an ancient ordnance item, represent the Battalions five European campaign honors during World War II. The lion, taken from the Belgian coat of arms, symbolizes the organizations citations awarded for action in that area.
Crest
The crest symbolizes the units Vietnam service. The four bamboo stalks refer to the four decorations awarded the Battalion. The color scarlet denotes the streamer color, Meritorious Unit Commendation; red and yellow, the colors of the national flag of the Republic of Vietnam, are the ribbon colors of the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm; green and red refer to the ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Medal. The chevron simulates the mountainous terrain of the Central Highlands area and, additionally, the chevron which is symbolic of support, refers to the maintenance support performed during combat operations. The depiction of the stalks on cross radiant from a central ring is suggested by the shoulder sleeve insignia of the 4th Infantry Division to represent the Battalions origin and campaign service as an element of the Division.
The coat of arms originally approved for the 704th Ordnance Battalion on 2 July 1954. It was redesignated for the 704th Maintenance Battalion on 29 November 1963. It was amended to add a crest on 19 October 1972. The insignia was redesignated for the 704th Support Battalion with the symbolism revised on 2 June 1987.
