On a white oval radiating yellow rays from the center and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border, a blue scroll bearing a white bulldog, detailed blue and shaded yellow, grasping a yellow rifle in its jowls, below two five-pointed stars in chief. Arcing below the shield, a White scroll inscribed NORTH CAROLINA A. &T. STATE UNIV. in yellow letters. The overall dimensions are 3 5/8 inches (9.21 cm) in height by 3 1/32 inches (7.70 cm) in width.
Blue and Yellow are the school colors. The bulldog is the schools mascot and grasping a rifle, which reflects the cadets military training. The two stars symbolize academic excellence and civic leadership, two qualities the cadets strive for.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 7 May 1993 and currently amended to update the manufacturing drawing on 30 October 2014. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-107)
