Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
On a red disc with a white border edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border, 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter overall, a group of three white wolves outlined and detailed black, facing to the front. On the white border at top, the inscription NORTH CAROLINA STATE and at bottom ROTC all in red capital letters.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 19 September 1956 and currently amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 21 November 2014. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-234)
Shoulder Loop Insignia
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/8 inches (3.49 cm) in width overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per bend Argent (White) and Gules (Red) a tower Or, beneath the shield a Red scroll bearing the motto OUR COUNTRY NOT OURSELVES in Gold letters.
The tower is a replica of the memorial tower on the college campus. The colors, red and white are the school colors.
The shoulder loop insignia was originally authorized 28 March 1955 and currently amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 21 November 2014.
