Description
A circular shaped embroidered item, consisting of a light green inner disc displaying the white head of a Trojan warrior, detailed light green; encircled around the disc a white designation band, inscribed above WEST BRUNSWICK and below HIGH SCHOOL in light green letters, all within a 1/8 inch (.32cm) light green border. Overall diameter is 3 inches (7.62cm).

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 22 March 1974 and currently amended to update the manufacturing drawing on 7 April 2015. (Drawing Number A-10J-1112)

Description

On a silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width consisting of a silver demi-Trojan soldier in armor holding in his left hand a diagonally placed spear, from lower right to upper left, point upwards, and in his right hand a circular silver shield edged white and bearing three green wavy bars; all surmounting an irregular shaped tri-parted scroll, green to the left, inscribed “WEST,” at the base of the Trojan soldier, a green scroll
inscribed “BRUNSWICK” and to the right a white scroll inscribed “TROJANS,” all in silver.


Symbolism

Kelley green and white are the school’s colors. The Trojan soldier is the school mascot, representing strength and readiness to excel at all challenges. The tenacious character of the Trojan warrior also reflects the school’s spirit for achievement and success. The circular shield with the three green wavy bars alludes to the town of Shallotte early history as a
seaport. The white edge of the circular shield signifies the continuous, virtue and honesty of the cadets.
