Symbolism

Since August 2012 Westwood High School has provided students with opportunities for growth in the areas of academics, leadership, and service. The school colors are represented by black, red and silver. The Red hawk is the schools mascot, a name inspired by the Blythewood areas common bird of prey, the red-tailed hawk. This powerful bird symbolizes determination, courage and strength, as well as highlights the schools achievements in academics and extracurricular activities.
