Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a white circular embroidered item, a red diamond encircle by a red designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border, inscribed TEMPLE at top and UNIVERSITY at bottom all in white letters.


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 13 Sept 1950, currently amended to update the update the manufacturing drawings on 5 July 2016. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-266)

Description

A gold color metal and epoxy device, 1 inch (2.54 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Argent, a fess and a pale couped in base Gules between in chief a temple in perspective of the second, garnished Or, in dexter base three owl heads affront of the second detailed of the third, two and one and in sinister base three diamonds of the second garnished and radiant of the third, two and one.  Attached below the shield, a Gold scroll inscribed 18 PERSEVERANTIA VINCIAT 88 in red letters.


Background

The shoulder loop insignia was originally authorized 16 December 1953. It was amended to change the description on 7 January 1994, currently amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 5 July 2016.
