Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
On a blue disc edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter a blue wolf head outlined and detailed yellow between the inscription LOPEZ HIGH SCHOOL LOBOS arcing above and BROWNSVILLE TEXAS arcing below, all in yellow letters.
Blue and gold are the school colors. The lobo (wolf) is the schools mascot and reflects the cadets determination and resourcefulness. The Spanish word for wolf reflects the Mexican and Spanish influence in the schools home area.
The shoulder sleeve insignia approved on 6 May 1994, currently amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 10 August 2016. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-338)
Shoulder Loop Insignia
A gold color metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of an arched shield blazoned: Azure a wolf rampant below a mullet Or, a chief per fess embattled grady Sable and Sanguine. Attached below the shield, a Gold scroll inscribed LOPEZ in red letters.
Blue and gold are the school colors. The wolf is the schools mascot. The star denotes achievement of the cadets and alludes to the Texas state flag, the home area of the school. The pattern in chief suggests native Mexican art motifs and reflects the Mexican cultural influence in the schools home area.
The shoulder loop Insignia was authorized on 6 May 1994, currently amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 10 August 2016.
