Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On an inverted gray shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, two black and yellow yellow jackets with white wings facing each other above the inscription STARKVILLE in black letters.  Overall dimension height is 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.    


Symbolism

Black and yellow are the school colors. The yellow jacket is the schools mascot. The inverted shield suggests a wasp hive and reflects the cadets teamwork to achieve goals.  The wasps are facing one another, reflecting the military bearing of the cadets and their devotion to country, community and school.

Description

A gold colored metal and epoxy shield shaped device, 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall blazoned as follows: Sable, a stylized wasp Or, garnished of the first, head to base.  Attached below and overlapping the base of the shield, a gold scroll parted into four stacked sections, two to the left inscribed on the top scroll ITS THE and on bottom scroll RIGHT and at the right of the shield, a scroll inscribed TO DO at top and THING at bottom all in black letters.


Symbolism

Black and yellow (gold) are the school colors. The yellow jacket wasp is the schools mascot and reflects the cadets industrious efforts in education.
