Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On an arched embroidered shield shape item blazon as follows:  Per chevron Sanguine and Or, in dexter chief a mullet and in sinister chief a lamp of knowledge base a yellow bobcat head outlined and detailed maroon, all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) maroon border.  Attached above, a maroon scroll edged with a 1/8 inch maroon border inscribed TSU in yellow letters.  Overall dimension are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Gold and maroon are the colors of Texas State University.

Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized on 22 January 1988. It was amended due to the school name change from Southwest Texas State University to Texas State University on 23 June 2004, currently amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 11 August 2016. Description

A gold colored metal and epoxied device, 1 1/8 (2.86 cm) in height consisting of shield blazoned:  Per fess embattled Sanguine and OR, in chief a mullet Argent within a wreath of the second, in base a stylized building of the last.  Attached below the shield a maroon scroll inscribed WE ALWAYS LEAD in gold letters.

The shoulder loop Insignia was originally authorized on 2 May 1988. It was amended due to the school name change from Southwest Texas State University to Texas State University on 23 June 2004, currently amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 11 August 2016.
