Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On an orange disc shaped embroidered item, the light blue silhouette of Abraham Lincoln's head wearing a top hat in Profile, cropped at the neck, between the inscription LINCOLN PARK arcing above and HIGH SCHOOL arcing below all in white letters, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border. Overall diameter is 3 inches (7.62 cm).


Symbolism

Blue and orange are the school colors. The representation of Abraham Lincoln is the schools mascot, which reflects the schools name, personifying the high standards the cadets set for themselves.


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 1 July 1996, it is currently being amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 7 November 2016. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-504)

Description

A silver colored metal and epoxy shield shaped device, 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height consisting of a shield blazoned as follows: The top of the shield forms an arrow shape, each side of the shield consisting of three small curves, Celeste, a piece of the wood issuant from sinister to dexter base, split by an axe bend sinisterwise, all Proper.  Attached below the shield, a Silver scroll inscribed BOLDER AND BETTER in Orange letters.


Symbolism

Blue and Orange are the school colors. The edging and shield device allude to the log cabin, suggesting the humble origins of Abraham Lincoln, the mascot of the school. The axe splitting a log symbolizes the schools nickname, RAILSPLITTERS and reflects the cadets dedication to the school and community.


Background

The shoulder loop Insignia was originally authorized on 1 July 1996, it is currently being amended to update the manufacturing drawings on October 1995. It was amended to include update the manufacturing drawing on 7 November 2016.
