Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a Yellow shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Green border, blazoned as follows: Or, a couped stylized alligators head to sinister Proper. Attached to the sides of the shield, a Yellow scroll inscribed ISLAND COAST in Green. The overall dimensions are 3 7/16 inches (8.73 cm) in width by 3 inches (7.62cm) in height.


Symbolism

The gator is the schools mascot; symbolic of power and determination.

Description

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Vert, a column entwined by an alligator, all Or; all within a diminished bordure of the last.


Symbolism

The column stands for a strong foundation of education and serves as a representation of a pillar of the community. The alligator is the mascot of the school; powerful and determined. Together, the shapes of the pillar and gator resemble that of the letters I and C, indicative of the schools name, Island Coast.

The shoulder loop Insignia was authorized 14 February 2017.
