The pale alludes to a column to stand for a strong foundation of education and as a pillar of the community. The Minuteman serves as a representation of a patriot, which is the schools mascot. The torch is symbolic of education and alight with the illumination of knowledge. The sword signifies leadership and direction.

The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 27 February 2017.
