Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a vertical rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border, divided diagonally from upper right to lower left, white over red, displaying a demi trident issuing from base, counterchanged red over white.  Attached above the rectangle, a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch red border inscribed LIBERTY in black letters.  Attached below the rectangle, a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch red border inscribed RED DEVILS in black letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in width.


Symbolism

Red, white and black are the school colors. The trident signifies a pitchfork, alluding to the RED DEVIL, the schools mascot. The arrangement of the background and the pitchfork denotes the students readiness to exchange ideals within the school and community. Red represents the cadets strength and courage to overcome challenges. Black conveys determination; white denotes decisiveness to excel in their academic and athletic skills.

Description

A silver color metal and epoxied shield shape device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield blazoned:  Per bend sinister Argent and Sable, a pitch fork bend sinisterwise Gules, tines upwards, between in chief, a torch palewise and in base a winged foot bend sinisterwise, toe downwards Argent (Silver Gray).  Attached below the shield, a Red scroll inscribed RED DEVILS in Silver.


Symbolism

Red, white and black are the school colors. The winged foot embodies sportsmanship and teamwork. The torch signifies the cadets pursuit of academic excellence.  The trident is the school symbol along with the RED DEVIL, which is the schools mascot.

 The shoulder loop Insignia was authorized on 24 March 2017.
