Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 (0.32 cm) yellow border, blazon as follows: Azure, issuant from base a stylized demi horse, head to sinister Or, detailed of the first. Attached to the sides and below the shield, a blue scroll edged with a 1/8 (0.32 cm) yellow border inscribed GRANT UNION HIGH SCHOOL in yellow. Overall dimensions are 3 3/8 (8.57cm) in width by 3 1/2 (8.89 cm) height.


Symbolism

Blue and gold are the school colors. The Pacer horse is the schools mascot which signifies strength and leadership.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized on 20 May 2017. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-1168).

Description

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Per pale Azure and Or, a stylized horseshoe, opening upwards, counterchanged. Attached below the shield a blue scroll doubled white bearing the inscription PACERS in gold.


Symbolism

Blue and gold are the school colors. The horseshoe recalls schools mascot of the Pacer horse and the upright position is symbolic of good luck. The motto: PACERS refers to the schools mascot. Gold exemplifies excellence, expediency, and expertise. Blue suggests leadership and authority.
