On a maroon circular shaped embroidered item a pirates head facing forward, grasping a dagger, all detailed yellow encircled by a yellow designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border inscribed LUMBERTON at top and SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL  at bottom all in maroon letters.  The overall diameter is 3 inches (7.62 cm).

Yellow and maroon are the school colors.  The pirate is taken from the seal of the school.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 26 April 1973, it is currently being updated to include manufacturing drawings and the ACU color versions on 18 May 2017 (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-1166).
