Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) olive drab border blazoned as follows: Vert (Olive Drab), a mullet Sanguine, throughout, between each facet and encircled from dexter base to base, by the letters AGGIE, Argent. Overall dimension are 2 3/4 inches (6.99 cm) in height by 1 3/16 inch (3.02 cm).


Symbolism

Maroon and white are the colors of the university. The star is taken from the seal of the university and stands for Texas. The word AGGIE refers to the school mascot. 


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 29 March 1951, currently amended to update the manufacturing drawings and to add the ACU color conversions on 15 June 2017. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-285)
