Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) light blue border, blazoned as follows: Sable, a stylized jaguars head couped Tenn (Golden Orange), garnished Argent, spots and details of the first, langued, eyed, and nosed Celeste. Attached above the item a black scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) light blue border inscribed FLOYD CENTRAL in white. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 3/4 inches (6.99 cm) in width.


Symbolism

The jaguar is the mascot of the school; fierce and determined. The school colors are light blue, gold, black, and white.

Description

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Quarterly Celeste and Or, in first quarter a winged foot of the second, garnished of the first; in second quarter a laurel wreath surmounted by a torch of the first; in third quarter a lamp enflamed of the last and in fourth quarter, a pair of drama masks Or detailed Celeste. Attached below the shield, a Light Blue scroll inscribed BUILDING EXCELLENCE in Gold.


Symbolism

The winged food denotes athletics and agility. The torch and laurels signify leadership and honor. The lamp implies knowledge and learning. The drama masks personify the arts. The symbols together portray the well- rounded education at the school.
