Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a black embroidered disc a yellow pile/wedge issuing from top between two yellow piles/wedges issuing from base, surmounted by a yellow stylized bulldog, standing and facing front, detailed gold brown, all within a circular yellow designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, inscribed "MARLBORO COUNTY" at top and "HIGH SCHOOL" at bottom in black letters. The overall dimension is 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter.


Symbolism
Black and gold (yellow) are the school colors. The bulldog is the school's mascot. The piles/wedges on the black disc form a letter "M", alluding to the county name.

Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 16 December 1993, it is currently being amended to update the manufacturing drawings and to add the ACU color conversions on 16 October 2017. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-318)

Description

A gold color metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Sable, a chevronel Argent and issuant from chief a demi chain-link in pale Or, between in dexter chief a lamp, in sinister chief a plow bend sinisterwise of the last, and in base two cubit arms fesswise clasped in a handshake Or.


Symbolism

Black and gold are the school colors. The plow and demi chain-link denote the agricultural and industrial base of the county. The lamp of knowledge suggests the academic curriculum of the cadets. The chevronel and grasping hands symbolize the cadets' civic pride and reflect their link and support to the community.
