On a purple vertical rectangular shaped embroidered item arced convexly at top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border, displaying a yellow bust of George Washington in profile facing to the right. Attached above the rectangle a yellow arced scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border and inscribed GWSHS in purple letters.  Attached below the rectangle a yellow arced scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border and inscribed GUAM in purple. Overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) width.   

Gold and purple are the school colors. The bust of George Washington reflects the schools namesake.

The shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI) originally authorized on 4 June 1982. It was amended on 13 June 2014 to include a manufacturing drawing, it is currently being amended to add the ACU color conversions on 30 October 2017.  (TIOH Drawing Number a-10J-135)
